Avatar The Movie
19:20:14 Dec 20th 09 - Princess Aisha:

Anyways watched Avatar?

As I understand Cameron waited 10 years for the special effects to be good enough to make this movie? Most expensive movie of all time.
After Titanic (most viewed movie of all time) this movie has the potential to be the same.

Its an adventure, love story, moral dilemma, action movie
Incredible special effects, great story, amazing new creatures that live on the planet where they went.

And this is all just by watching trailer and a short clip about making the movie.
So I need fresh opinions of the movie, if anyone watched? :)

19:33:45 Dec 20th 09 - Fire Lord Nova The Mzztical Mzzfit:

Very awesome movie. Great story line with a great flow. Never a dull moment. Visual effects were outstanding. Scenery was simply amazing with no movie I ever seen coming even close to the breath taking views.
I personally skipped the 3D version and now wish I didn't.
If anyone is thinking of just waiting for the DvD, DON'T. This is most definitely a movie for the big screen if you want a truly amazing movie to watch.

5 Stars from me!

19:40:32 Dec 20th 09 - Sir Santa:

I'm going to it soon, however, just a small remark, if I'm not mistaken, Pandora is a moon, not a planet ;)

20:25:02 Dec 20th 09 - Mr. Tyrgalon:

I think your correct santa :) and yes it is a amazing movie, I soo it yesterday in 3D.

20:35:54 Dec 20th 09 - Mr. Tassadar:

If I knew how good this movie was, and the tickets were 30 dollars, I'd probably still go watch it.

21:28:12 Dec 20th 09 - Mr. Arzun:

3D was not 3D... it was so much better. Really seems to be how every movie should be made from now on. It was spectacularly amazing.

22:23:30 Dec 20th 09 - Sir Samulis The Noble:

It was wayy worth it to go to the 3D one... the film is INCREDIBLE!!! A must see for any sci-fi, fantasy, and future-earth lover! I went with someone who said they hated sci-fi movies, but as we came out, they said it was one of the best movies they have seen.

This movie makes Lord of the Rings look like a home movie with the amount of Spec. FX shots they used.

23:58:49 Dec 20th 09 - Mr. Ancient Basio:

BEST MOVIE I'VE ever SEEEEN.

00:12:51 Dec 21st 09 - Dr. Happy Pants:

does anyone know if the story line was based on Foreigner by C. J. Cherryh

00:32:47 Dec 21st 09 - Sir Samulis The Noble:

Sorry, never heard of that book...

02:00:03 Dec 21st 09 - Dr. Happy Pants:

Yeah, comparing movies from 2001-2003 vs one from 2009 is a genius comparison...let's compare Robin Hood with Errol Flynn in 1938 with Dark Knight in 2008

02:44:35 Dec 21st 09 - Sir Aries II:

I would think making LOTR (2 and 3 mostly) look like a homeade movie would be a big feat... :p

03:24:01 Dec 21st 09 - Endless Despair:

Awww I hate 3D movies :(
I don't have stereoscopic vision (yep depth perception problems :p)

03:28:05 Dec 21st 09 - Mr. Arion:

In my opinion the movie wasn't that great. There wasn't really that much tension building or plot thickness. It was basically a environmentalist movie. Not a masterpiece by a long shot in my opinion.

03:44:34 Dec 21st 09 - Sir Cadmus The Valiant:

Going to see it tomorrow in the Imax 3D. I'm greatly looking forward to it.

05:09:10 Dec 21st 09 - Toaster Struddle:

By far one of the most amazing movie's I've ever seen.  I'm actually going out to buy a blue ray player and I'm going to also buy it on blue ray simply for its stunning and amazing visual work (when it comes out on blue ray).  Not only was I amazed by that but I was amazed at how in depth the character work was and how you could watch and see each character progress throughout the story.  All and all I thought it was amazing movie and recommend you go watch it in theatres to get the full effect of it because waiting for it to come out on dvd is quite possibly the biggest waste ever.

And as for the movie having Spec effects if you didnt know already 95% of the movie was done completely with C.G. with the exception of a few small set pieces (interior of buildings, ships, aircrafts etc.) the entire movie was done with C.G. and adding to that this movie is just a test.  Avatar was James Cameron's test for another movie he's been holding aside for nearly 15+ years to see how everything turns out with this one.  I wouldnt be surprised if in a few years he comes out with another visually stunning masterpiece that will captivate audiences for years to come.

You should be a movie critic

21:48:37 Dec 21st 09 - Toaster Struddle:

02:28:37 Dec 23rd 09 - Mr. Raddan:

03:42:46 Dec 23rd 09 - Mr. Papas Bear:

i saw the trailer and jizzed in my pants

03:47:02 Dec 23rd 09 - Sir Cadmus The Valiant:

It was AMAZING in Imax 3D. Purely a work of art. Well worth the wait.

15:13:41 Dec 24th 09 - Mr. Wilover:

Freaking great movie! I saw it in 3D also, definately worth paying the extra quid or 2.

If I had enough money and someone wanted to see it, I'd definately go and see it again.

15:24:00 Dec 24th 09 - Mr. The Avenger:

I so wanna see it and so does my friend the thing is  tho I need money got none :(

20:27:06 Dec 24th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent:

Great movie!  is it bad though that I was cheering for the humans?

20:39:28 Dec 24th 09 - Sir Santa:

Yes, Arthur, it is very bad! Look at their planet! There is no green there. They killed théir mother!

I just loved his speech after he became "Toruk Macto"! Never had such goosebumps before :)

21:01:39 Dec 24th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent:

Well I wasn't cheering for their cause, but when the battle was ensuing I was more sad at when the marines were dying than the blue things.

21:24:03 Dec 24th 09 - Sir Samulis The Noble:

Many of those soldiers wern't marines, but hired mercenaries (e.g. bandits, insurgents, the general riff-raff).

03:49:23 Dec 25th 09 - Mr. Arthur Dent:

Fine, but I still wanted the humans to kill those play-do people!

Lol, anyways it was an awesome movie, highly suggest it to people, also to watch in 3-D for sure!

21:40:59 Dec 25th 09 - Mr. Roxbury:

I really enjoyed the part of the movie where Neytiri was training Jake to be a proper warrior.. and he was experiencing all the strange new things in Pandora. It was awesome to see him enjoy his new legs.. he didnt want to do tests.. he just wanted to.. run with his legs :p

Hilarious scene when the Navi made him wear proper Navi clothes for the celebration.. he wasnt used to that damn g-string riding up his ass hehe

21:59:50 Dec 25th 09 - Mr. Ares Maliusbum:

u destroying the fun :)

04:21:53 Dec 26th 09 - Sir Cadmus The Valiant:

The characters and plot was very in depth - as can be expected when the movie was 15 years in the making.

04:41:35 Dec 26th 09 - Sir Black Heart:

Good movie, really worth the time!

00:01:13 Dec 29th 09 - Duke Jictelious The Younger:

Great movie.

21:44:39 Dec 30th 09 - Sir Muzzy:

Watched it today and... This movie kicked ass. Only watch it in 3-D though :)

21:46:15 Dec 30th 09 - Endless Spankings The Naughty:

arrrrrrgh *cries* it's lonely not seeing in 3D ;)

21:59:26 Dec 30th 09 - Ice Prince Shazsaro:

I watched Avatar is totaly awezomez!

there should be a second part of it!

00:25:51 Dec 31st 09 - Sir Santa:

"The first of these films is a long-rumored love story to be set against the backdrop of a planet-hopping future — and has been known by several names. " 'Project 880,' we'll probably release it as 'Avatar,' " he said, mentioning two such aliases. "We haven't locked in on the title yet, but this is what we are calling it. [There will be] possible sequels if it does well; if it tanks, no."

A quote from James Cameron ;)
As Avatar is obviously doing well, we can expect an Avatar 2 and possible 3 ;)

02:14:00 Dec 31st 09 - Mr. Dalak The Dodgy Gynaecologist:

The humans are not going to accept the arse kicking the got are they?  :)

02:24:32 Dec 31st 09 - Mr. Orny:

I completely disagree with Ice Prince Shazsaro. I think it's very beatiful to make a movie without 2 sequels to drag as much money out of it as possible. It was a great story with a great ending, but a sequel would destroy it all. It's good as it is. The movie was very long (3h), but I wasn't bored a second.

06:40:10 Dec 31st 09 - Sir Cadmus The Noble:

I do agree the Avatar should be a single movie without any continuations. However the writer of the movie stated that this movie was a trial for other movies he has written. We could expect a new, original movie from him in the next few years.

07:29:08 Dec 31st 09 - Lord Overcome:

fantastic movie! all though i prefered it without 3D cause i somehow got real exhusted and cant see the screen proporly when i was wearing those glasses. anyone experienced the same problem?

i hate to miss out, cause those i went with said it was much better in 3D.

another thing that was great about the movie was the music, witch really contributed to the whole experience. and this is the best animation effects i have ever seen.

i just hope that if its a sequal, they manage to bring back the feeling where everything is mystical and amazing. and that they havent layed out all the cards about the moon and its surroundings yet.
